Apparel brand Outdoor Voices was founded by Tyler Haney in 2014. Known for its “doing things” mission statement, the company positions itself as more accessible and less competition-focused than other athletic brands. Former J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler served as the Austin, Texas-based brand’s chairman until 2020. Investors, who have poured more than $60 million into the business, include Forerunner Ventures and GV, the former Google Ventures. Mostly direct-to-consumer, the brand’s workout wear has also been sold at retailers like Nordstrom Rack.
