Orrick implemented a wide range of new programs and practices in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including a new fellowship program that allows six lawyers to focus on racial, social, and economic justice and equity for an entire year with full pay. In addition, Orrick committed to no increase in health care costs in 2021 and doled out tax-free $1,000 wellness stipends. The company also makes diversity a top priority, something greatly appreciated by employees: “This racially turbulent time has taken a toll on our team members, and Orrick has reached out and offered discussion and encouragement through speakers as well as offering up to three days of paid time off to deal with anxiety and unease,” says an employee.
