Medline was founded in 1966 by Jon and Jim Mills, but its roots reach back to 1910, when A.L. Mills started a Chicago garment factory that eventually evolved into a healthcare supplies business. Headquartered in Northfield, Illinois, Medline has grown into the largest provider of medical-surgical products and supply chain solutions serving all points of care. Medline’s brand is built around the Medline name, but its business spans a broad portfolio of product categories and customer-facing solutions. It manufactures and distributes more than 300,000 products and support services. Medline completed its massive initial public offering in December 2025. The medical-surgical supply company's IPO raised over $6 billion, making it the largest U.S. IPO of 2025.
