Kroger operates thousands of U.S. supermarkets. Brands it operates include Kroger, Ralphs, and Fred Meyer. In addition to more than 2,700 grocery stores, Kroger has thousands of fuel centers and pharmacies, and employs 420,000 associates across the U.S. Kroger has a growing digital business that includes grocery orders through its Pickup program (formerly known as Clicklist). The company’s recent expansion efforts include investing in more convenience meals and expanding Mercado, a new Hispanic-inspired brand, to serve a growing demographic.
