KBR, formerly known as Kellogg, Brown & Root, has a long history as a top contractor in defense and aerospace, with roots dating back to World War II. The company offered engineering, procurement, and construction services for clients including the U.S. military until 2020, when it pivoted. Under new CEO Stuart J.B. Bradie, the company has shifted its focus to technology services. Among KBR's new clients is the U.S. Geological Survey, with which it has a contract to analyze satellite data.
