Since its founding in 1922, Edward Jones has grown to provide a range of financial services to more than 8 million clients. A subsidiary of Jones Financial Companies, the privately held firm’s more than 19,000 financial advisors offer wealth management services; college and retirement savings plans; investment recommendations in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds; insurance policies and annuities; and cash and credit services. Edward Jones also helps business owners with planning and expense management. The firm initially stayed relatively small under the leadership of its namesake founder and didn’t establish its first branch location until 1957. Edward Jones now has nearly 16,000 branch locations throughout North America. Today, the St. Louis-based firm is led by managing partner Penny Pennington.

Edward Jones celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022, and its regional branches celebrated with service—collecting over 100,000 pounds of food for food banks in Arizona and 1,000 hygiene kits for a Dallas nonprofit that supports child protective services’ work with abused and neglected children.
Edward Jones’ Grassroots Legislative Task Force is the securities industry’s only volunteer advocacy organization that travels to D.C. each year on behalf of all institutional investors. Through the task force, Edward Jones held more than 300 meetings with congressional offices and mobilized nearly 7,000 associates, who wrote more than 26,000 letters asking lawmakers to pass the Secure 2.0 Act, requiring employers to automatically enroll their staff in retirement savings accounts.
