Change the World 2025
Demand for data center usage has soared with the advent of AI—and cooling all those warehouses full of GPUs is enormously energy- and water-intensive. Johnson Controls, long a major provider of industrial cooling systems, has aimed to reduce that impact with its York YVAM chiller. The system uses 40% less power annually than other coolers to chill the same amount of air, and it does so without consuming on-site water; it’s also considerably quieter than most industrial chillers.
