Home Depot is the world’s largest home improvement retailer, operating more than 2,300 superstores in all 50 U.S. states. Home Depot sells items including appliances, tools, and hardware in its stores and online. As of 2025, it employed 475,000 associates, who are known for wearing distinctive orange uniform aprons. To expand beyond stores and e-commerce, Home Depot has invested billions in professional builder and contractor businesses. In 2024, it acquired SRS Distribution, a large distributor of building products. The deal was valued at $18.25 billion and is the largest in the retailer’s history.
