A 40-day strike by General Motors’ workers at its U.S. factories left many Chevrolet and Cadillac dealers without inventory at the end of 2019. While consumers showed interest in the company’s midsize crossovers like the Chevrolet Equinox and Traverse, sales of larger SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade and Chevrolet Suburban declined, contributing to a 16% slide in profits last year. Of concern for the future, customers just aren’t buying the well-reviewed Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle.
