Founded in the 1800s, First Citizens BancShares is one of the largest commercial banks in the United States. First Citizens BancShares is the holding company for First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company, which offers retail and commercial banking services to individuals, small businesses, and larger companies in the United States and internationally. Since purchasing Silicon Valley Bank in 2023, First Citizens has offered financial services to startups and technology firms through a division called Silicon Valley Commercial.
