It is one of the insurance providers that makes up the Farmers Insurance Group, along with Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange. Founded in 1928, the Farmers Insurance Group was created to provide insurance to farmers but has since expanded to offer its financial services to an array of customers. In 2020, the group announced that it would acquire financial service company MetLife Auto and Home.
