If you were to describe consumer spending especially here in the US based on your reservation track record. How would you describe it? What's the mood of the US consumer right now? I would say generally very positive. This is not you know, 2008. I mean Americans obviously what got very leverage on credit cards Etc. A lot of that has come under control. Right now the travel market in the United States is very strong. And that goes across hotels, airlines, everything because Americans are in fact out traveling. Now, most of price lines businesses outside the United States. That's right? You operate in 200 countries. Yeah. Why the small footprint in the United States. Priceline definitely started as a US only concept. But our growth is really happened outside of the United States. And it's interesting, it's not that many companies have become really big outside the United States and have to come into the United States introduce themselves. So for us, America is a growth market. This is an area that, if we wanna be truly global, the United States should be like 25 % of our revenue not 15 or 10 % of our revenue. So. We're very focused on being successful in America and we think we have the products to do that. So now how does the Expedia Orbitz merger deal. Yeah. Impact Priceline. We're very open to it and open to the competition we have, we're a very valuable company because we've learned how to do this business and make money but we feel really strongly that we've got a set of products that When you have two big online travel agencies merging that means less competition. And for consumers that means prices could be going up. Is that how you see it? No, I don't believe that because the pricing in our industry is really controlled by the travel service providers. It's the airlines and the hotels, they decide how to price of product. So we're taking a product that Are travel service providers, price and then taking it to the world. And also if you look at the travel market, it's a $ 1. 3 trillion market. We do roughly 50 billion in transactions. XPD does roughly 50 billion, but together, we make a plus in 10 % of the market. So it really shouldn't affect prices. The bigger things that affect prices are the balance, the demand and supply and all the things you can imagine. That's really about the people who are providing The travel service at the end of the day. Are you interested in doing a big acquisition? 99 % of my focus is on organic execution it's Can we stay hungry enough to move fast enough to win on the internet? And can we remain humble enough so that our travel service provider partners want to win with us so we're always looking, but to be honest, you really look at the growth of the group really hasn't been an accurate we've made great acquisitions Booking. com, Kayak, Open Table. But what we do with the acquisitions is much more important than the acquisitions themselves. Tell us about your acquisition last year of Open Table. So this is online restaurant reservations. What was the attraction? Open Table for us is it's an amazing brand. People love OpenTable. The problem is, it's only Americans that know about OpenTable. They have a small presence in London. And our dream is to take OpenTable, move it to a modern technology platform, and then bring it to the world. [ BLANK_AUDIO ]
