French energy giant Engie is Europe’s largest operator of gas distribution and storage infrastructure and a major generator and distributor of electricity. It is also heavily involved in the supply and trading of energy, the provision of on-site power, heating and cooling supply for businesses and districts, and the design and operation of power stations. In recent years, Engie’s big push has been to expand renewables and to focus on a smaller number of global markets. The Paris-headquartered firm now operates in 31 markets in Europe, Latin America, North America, Asia, Africa and Oceania, down from 70 in 2018.
