Employees say: "DHL is a global company, but has found the ability to make me feel like I'm an important part of our success. They ensure that I balance work and home by not allowing me to work too much. They take an interest in my development and encourage me in continuous growth. All of these facts make me eager to do my best every day and to do my part."

Part of the Deutsche Post DHL group, DHL Express is home to over 7,000 U.S. employees and 111,000 employees globally, and rose 31 spots from its 2023 ranking on this list. With a fleet of over 300 aircraft, DHL Express offsets the balance of “keeping the world connected” through sustainable efforts such as pledging to invest 1% of net profits in localizing and digitizing disaster preparedness through its GoHelp program, and planting 5 million trees by 2025 through its GoGreen program.
DHL Express puts employees’ health and safety first through its Fit for Work, Fit for Life health and well-being program, which offers initiatives such as the Are You OK? campaign, virtual escape rooms and walks, vaccinations, mindfulness sessions, and psychological support lines, among others.

Even with 110,000 employees, the transportation company has managed to establish a culture of pride and community with an especially engaged and loyal workforce.
- Well-being is a priority. The Fit for Work program offers activities that help employees both at work and in their personal lives, such as exercise classes, vaccinations, cancer screenings, and stress-reducing activities.
- To encourage diversity, the company established the DHL4ALL Sounding Board, a 20-worker panel, which includes a wide range of voices and experiences that bring the needs and feedback of often underrepresented groups to the company’s attention. A standard unconscious bias training program was also made mandatory to all HR teams and offered to all employees
- Beyond diversity and mental health, DHL also encourages continuing education, with over 5,000 training sessions and other learning opportunities, offered in 25 languages. Topics range from leadership skills training and TED Talks to primers on using Excel and PowerPoint.
- “I have yet to run into anyone who would say ‘It's not my job,’" said one employee. “If they can't help, they will find someone who can.”
