With new-home construction activity up at the start of 2022, homebuilders like David Weekley Homes have plenty of business coming in. That’s something that also helps its employees, with 94% reporting they receive a fair share of the company’s profits thanks to an employee stock ownership plan and a profit-sharing program that pays out when a team earns a profit margin of at least 5% for a particular quarter. In addition to including workers in its financial success, David Weekley also rewards loyalty by offering four- to six-week sabbaticals after employees have been with the company for more than 10 years. This paid time off can be used to travel, volunteer, or accomplish personal or professional goals—and the company offers $2,000 grants to help offset the costs.
