As the housing market struggles with a dearth of buyers and sellers amid the highest mortgage rates in decades, David Weekley Homes dropped 33 spots from last year’s ranking to 2024.
Employees who have been with the company for a year are eligible for a 10% discount up to $40,000 on a David Weekley home, a service that extends to immediate family members. The discount has been used by almost 900 employees as of December 2023, amounting to $28.6 million in savings. Also, employees who have been with the company for over two years are eligible to join its employee stock ownership plan. After retiring, employee-owners receive their account value in five annual installments. As of July 2023, there are 1,135 employee-owners at David Weekley.
