Chipotle is a Mexican-inspired fast-casual restaurant chain selling tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, and salads. The company was founded in 2003 in Denver by Steve Ells, who wanted to model the restaurant concept after burrito stores he ate at while working as a chef in San Francisco. Today, Chipotle operates about 3,800 locations in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, Kuwait, and United Arab Emirates. It employs more than 130,000 people.
