China Mobile Communications is the world’s largest mobile network operator by total number of subscribers, with 995.6 million as of April 2024. It is the world’s second-largest telecommunications company by market capitalization. Through its subsidiaries, China Mobile Communications operates in LTE/4G mobile telecommunication and fixed-line telecommunications businesses. The company was founded in 1997 as China Mobile Communications Corporation and changed its name to China Mobile Communications Group in 2017. The enterprise is state-owned and controlled by the government of the People’s Republic of China. It is also a public company listed on the NYSE and the Hong Kong stock exchange.
