The Cheesecake Factory took protective measures to support its workers, including furloughed staffers, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. And it still recognizes the continued pressures facing its workforce. In 2021, the company, which has 306 restaurants across the U.S. and Canada, provided free mental health support to staff at all levels through its telehealth vendor, Doctor on Demand. It also launched a training program to help managers identify when workers might be struggling with a mental health challenge, connecting them with professional help as needed. The Cheesecake Factory rolled out special vaccine pay in 2021 as well, available to all hourly staff members: They are paid two hours per vaccination appointment, up to a total of four paid hours, even if they receive the vaccine during their regularly scheduled time off.
