Box’s mission is to “power how the world works together,” and that also applies to its efforts to cultivate a culture of inclusion and belonging. The 17-year-old cloud content company’s hiring process is focused on bringing in a diverse slate of candidates, with the goal that a minimum of two candidates from underrepresented backgrounds reach the on-site evaluation stage of the interview process. Box has gone all in on health and wellness benefits, offering its 1,700 U.S. workers child development support provided by Cleo; fertility support from Carrot; and coaching and therapy from Modern Health. In an effort to foster employee growth, Box provides specialized career guides to convey clearly what’s expected in a role, including what’s required for promotion consideration.
