[MUSIC PLAYING] In the next 20 years, there'll be 2 billion more people living on this planet. If you look at the landscape of the construction industry today, that infrastructure doesn't exist today. Construction has been a technology laggard for many, many years. And if you look at any of the research, it shows it is one of the least technology or digitized industries in the world. There's an enormous challenge, quite frankly, for the industry to be able to keep up with the demand. At the same time, we hear our customers say all the time how they have a hard time finding the skilled labor that they need. So the ability to apply technology is going to continue to grow in importance for the entire industry. I believe we're at a really interesting crossroads, and there is this perfect storm of technology that's occurred in the past 10 years or so. IPhones, smartphones, iPads, mobility, in general, in a meaningful way. It's really only 10 years old. And when that happened, it became viable for construction companies to bring mobile devices out into the job site. Traditionally, if a project manager was walking a job site and saw an issue, traditionally, what they would do is they would go back to the construction trailer, they'd look up the drawing, they'd find out who was responsible, then they'd call and explain the issue with that person. Today what they do-- what that project manager will do is they'll have their iPad, they'll have a copy of BIM 360, they'll see an issue, they'll take a photo of the issue, and they'll connect that photo and that issue to a specific model, and then share that issue back with the team responsible for addressing it. The next thing that happened is the cloud. So now, all those devices are collecting data, which is being centrally stored in the cloud. Layer in IoT and sensors, they're just data collectors. We've got drones flying around taking video of job sites. You have cameras on the job site taking pictures from every single angle. All this data that's collected from various sources, we analyze that data, we've built machine learning and AI models that can interpret that data and look for the signal in that noise. Look for the risk in that data, and then we serve that back to our customers so that they can check it the way they check the weather. And then if you look ahead, ideas like robotics, off-site construction, modular construction really hold a lot of promise for the industry. People worry about robots and robotics taking jobs. Quite frankly, this industry is looking for ways to drive more productivity to not require that the large workforces that they've required in the past because they have a hard time filling those roles. I think in the future, we'll find that AI in machine learning is ambient, so you won't be thinking about it, it'll just be there. I get excited about it because construction is often characterized as a very litigious industry where there's a lot of lawsuits and finger pointing and a lot of risk and a lot of unhappy people. So anytime you find an aligned incentive, where hey, if we can help you do better planning, have less unplanned change later on, and you can keep your margins where you want them, and the owner gets a high quality building on time and on budget, everybody's happy. It's a win-win and that's exciting. [MUSIC PLAYING]
