In June 2021, Baptist Health South Florida hired its first-ever chief well-being officer, a symbol of the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote mental health and prevent burnout. Baptist Health encourages work/life balance via a wide range of scheduling options that includes compressed workweeks, job sharing, and self-scheduling. The Pineapple Proud + Strong Kindness Campaign let employees send one another motivational stories and photos as a means of boosting morale during the pandemic. Baptist Health also looks out for employees when it comes to hiring: 45% of all job openings—and 59% of all leadership positions—are filled internally. “Baptist is such an amazing place to work because not only do we care for our community, but we also care about our employees!” says one employee. “You don't see that type of love, passion and respect in other organizations.”
