"People are invited to bring their FULL selves to work and be authentic—of course with alignment to our operating models, which really emphasize the right behaviors. I feel very close and connected with most of the managers I have worked for, even those a level or two above me—both professionally and personally—because they have an interest in me. When I meet people I think are great, I always try to bring them to Bain."
Employees say:
"Bain stands out for its strong culture of apprenticeship and support. Teams are deliberately structured so junior members get real responsibility early while receiving close mentorship. It's also unusual in how seriously it invests in people, from global training programs to a results-driven but genuinely collaborative environment (e.g., teams share credit and prioritize "a Bainie never lets another Bainie fail"). Combined with a strong emphasis on measurable client impact and a tight-knit, values-driven culture, it creates a place where people develop quickly and feel supported doing it."
Employees say:
"So many things are wonderful about Bain and really unique! A few examples: The fact that supporting colleagues is part of our ethos and values ("A Bainie Never Lets Another Bainie Fail"), and we celebrate examples of it when we see it. The fact that mentorship and development is a core requirement of every supervisor's job. The fact that we can have fun while we work and there's a genuine sense of camaraderie. The fact that pay and benefits are generous. The fact that there is tons of learning and growth opportunities...it's a long list. Bain is truly the best place to work."
Employees say:
"You're not just allowed to build new tools, processes, or ideas here, you're encouraged to. And once you do, there's a real culture of handing things off without ego so others can keep evolving what you started. With access to the latest tools, especially in AI, it's easy to level up quickly and stay future-ready while helping shape what comes next for your function and the business."

Employees say: "The people. Bain hires bright, authentic people who care deeply about their clients, their colleagues, and their communities. The training is also exceptional. There are endless high-quality opportunities to learn."
Employees say:
"The supportive culture at Bain is truly exceptional. Two months ago, I joined a project team focused on an area in which I had no prior experience. The initial learning curve was steep, but the senior manager, my colleagues, and even my supervisee went out of their way to teach me. Their willingness to invest extra time ensured I was fully equipped to contribute meaningfully to the team."
Employees say:
"Bain does a wonderful job of hiring people who are team and solution oriented. Never have I had someone turn me down when I asked for help with a project or to take off to support myself or my family. The culture is full of Bainies who will go the extra mile outside of work hours, being a part of the Bain Band or Summer Meeting Video Team, all to make our office wide events that much more enjoyable and inspiring for the greater Bain family."
Employees say:
"The people that Bain hires are the most amazing people to work with. High integrity, fun, hard-working, engaged, supportive. We accomplish so much more together due to our teaming and supportive culture. Our people are truly our secret sauce."
Employees say:
"Bain & Co is the most supportive and inclusive company that I have ever worked for. Their benefits are amazing and I feel that they truly do value their employees and are constantly working to try and find better and new ways of working to improve daily functions in all areas of the company."

As Bain & Co. celebrates its 50th anniversary, the management consulting firm boasts locations in 65 cities and 40 countries worldwide, and has focused heavily on retention, creating a new program to rotate staff across teams. At the same time, Bain has lessened an emphasis on degree requirements and job experience when interviewing candidates for certain professional roles, prioritizing industry-specific skills instead.
In its embrace of DEI initiatives, Bain achieved a perfect score in 2022 from the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for fostering LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion. Last year, the company launched the First at Bain affinity group, a community for staff who are first-generation college students or first to experience a career in professional services, and expanded its other affinity groups, including Black at Bain, Women at Bain, and Diverse Abilities at Bain.
Instead of eschewing AI, Bain has partnered with OpenAI, integrating the technology into its management systems. About a third of staff use OpenAI services daily, and 15% use it weekly.
