Change the World 2025
Baidu’s Apollo Go vehicles have now completed over 200 million kilometers of real-world operations without a single major casualty. It also operates its robotaxis to complement existing public transport, reducing the need for private cars on the roads and lowering traffic congestion. Baidu hopes to target populations with more specific needs as well. China has the world’s largest group of visually impaired people, at 17 million; Baidu has introduced “care mode” to its platform to better serve this group. Baidu, which offers China’s most popular desktop search engine, is barrelling into AI as its next source of growth, and is partnering with both Uber and Lyft to bring its robotaxis to global markets.
