American Electric Power (AEP) is one of the largest investor-owned electric utility holding companies in the U.S., engaged in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity for retail and wholesale customers through multiple operating segments. The company operates an extensive infrastructure, including approximately 225,000 circuit miles of distribution lines and 40,000 miles of transmission lines, and maintains a diverse generation portfolio spanning coal, natural gas, nuclear, hydropower, solar, wind, and battery storage. AEP is executing a five-year, $54 billion capital investment plan focused on expanding and modernizing the power grid, supporting over 20 gigawatts of new power demand expected by the end of the decade.
