This is the debut year on the list for women’s fashion brand Altar’d State, based in Maryville, Tenn. It supported its more than 2,000 employees during the ongoing pandemic by continuing to offer mental health resources through a partnership with Talkspace that gives workers unlimited access to therapists. The brand also offers a quarterly bonus program open to all employees, including part-time and seasonal associates, and in each of the first three quarters of 2021, Altar’d State doled out 15% base pay bonuses to all associates. On Mission Monday, 10% of the net proceeds from each store and online go to fund local charities. Says one employee: “It gives me such an overwhelming feeling of pride and joy to be able to say that I am making an impact no matter what day I come into work or where I am working.” Read the Great Place to Work review.
