Airbus in Fortune Rankings

Multinational aerospace giant Airbus is Europe’s leading producer of commercial aircraft, and the division represents nearly three-quarters of its turnover. However, it also manufactures helicopters, military aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, satellites, and spacecraft components. In more recent years, the group—legally based in the Netherlands but run from France—has grown its services businesses, including cybersecurity, secure communications and data analytics, with customers including police, security services and emergency responders. Airbus emerged during the postwar period of pan-European cooperation that also produced Concorde, with major operations particularly in France, Germany, Spain and Britain, though today its 150,000 employees are spread across continents, with Asia-Pacific representing a third of revenues.
