[ MUSIC ] Lisa, many people don't know much about Adtalem Global Education, but they do know that it runs one of the largest For profit college chains in the country. Tell us a little bit more about your company's mission. So Adtalem Golbal Education is mission- based, global education company that focuses on medical and healthcare, financial services, and then professional education. Basically workforce skills. It looks like your organization has many diverse Verse and non- traditional students. What do you see as your company's responsibility to society ?>> We want to provide edcuation for folks who we call it life gets in the way. A lot of our students, many of them are in their 20's, their adult learners and they're not necessarily coming out of high school. Some are but not The majority, they have families, they're working as they take our classes. And so for us, our responsibility is to fulfill that mission of allowing everybody to be able to get an education, whether it's a certification of six or nine weeks or a full four year degree or a professional degree. We wanna help them keep growing and being able to be mobile in their careers. And you have also been doing more in the healthcare education space, particularly for minorities, and also Resolving this whole shortage for nurses and doctors. Can you tell us more about that? What are your goals? We have two medical schools and our Ross University School of Medicine and American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine Really produce almost over 70 % of primary care physicians. As you know, a lot of the shortage is in low resource areas, either very urban, or very rural. We produce doctors who want to serve in those communities, so part of our mission is fulfilling the community mission of bringing health care to neighborhoods and communities that don't often have that. And what have been the outcomes? Do those doctors and nurses Once they graduate from your programs, actually go and work in underserved communities? Yes, they do. They like to be a part of the community of Rossies, as they call them. In the case of Rosum for AUC, same thing, where they're going back and they're not always primary care physicians, but certainly serving in communities that just don't have enough physicians. And it's the same for our nursing school, Chamberlain University of Nursing. Has 21 campuses across 15 states. But our nurses serve all over the country and sometimes globally. So it looks like you're doing your part to really train and educate A diverse and qualified people for the workplace. But yet we still hear from so many companies saying that they're very challenged to find diverse qualified people to fill these positions. How do we fix this problem ?>> The way that [ UNKNOWN ] is fixing the problem is really going to employers and finding out what they need and then also making them aware of, Of a very diverse workforce and pool. So we're able to track our students, have a strong alumni base, and really connect them with the students who are diverse, who want to work in those communities, and do those jobs that a lot of time employees say They just don't have the people for. We try to connect the two, mm- hm. Well, looking out a few years from now, what is the workplace gonna look like? How realistic is it to see that there will be a diverse workplace, and In the ranks of senior executives, and also on corporate boards. I think we have work to do as it relates to boards, and management teams being diverse. I am very positive because I believe that the diversity discussion is changing. And it needs to change and it needs to change to diversity being intentional. Diversity being about hiring and promoting senior executives who can rise through the ranks. And it needs to be about the cultural Connection between diversity inclusion and what your actual company culture says about who you are as a company and who you are as a board. [ BLANK_AUDIO ]
