Box’s commitment to its employees goes well beyond the office. It matches employee donations to a wide variety of nonprofits in full, and offers staff days off from work for volunteer service. Eight diverse former and current nonprofit CEOs serve on the Box.org Advisory Council, consulting with the cloud-computing services firm on its strategy and direction, and providing specific guidance on how to advance its goals, such as ensuring child welfare and supporting environmental causes.
Box has upgraded its offices to match its environmental objectives, adding water stations for refillable bottles, supplying compostable plates and utensils, and installing EV-charging stations—measures that it estimates have collectively reduced Box’s greenhouse gas emissions by more than 300,000 kilograms.
