"Everyone I have met is smart, kind, dedicated, hardworking, and ready to give a helping hand whenever it is needed. The people are SAP's most unique and rare asset - that should never be forgotten. We are colleagues. We are friends. We are family. We work in an environment that is safe and accepting, which enables us to be ourselves and to take risks when we believe they are necessary. My managers and team leaders directly contribute to cultivating this environment. We joke, we do activities together, we talk about life, and we always deliver on our promises - both to our customers and to ourselves. I am very thankful to be a part of my team, and to have the opportunity to grow at SAP. I feel lucky to belong here. I really do."

Employees say:
"I appreciate that this company has a clear understanding that gaining knowledge provides growth, opportunities, and retention. SAP has a plethora of learning sites within SAP for all employees and sites outside of SAP. It's great to work for a company that believes in investing in their employees and retaining them."

Enterprise software giant SAP America has risen five spots on the list while taking steps to address internal survey results that showed declining mental health among employees in the pandemic’s wake. The U.S. unit of the German multinational took action to update its mental health resources, offering crisis leave and implementing Are You Okay, a program that provides counseling and mental health webinars. In acknowledgement of a decline in social connection among staff, SAP America launched Culture Crew, a volunteer employee group that seeks ways to foster workplace camaraderie.
SAP’s quarterly all-hands meetings promote transparency and open communication with an “unplugged” format; employees post questions that an executive panel addresses virtually, with the most-asked questions answered live.
To grow its pipeline of women in senior positions, SAP created the Women to Watch program and launched an Executive Shadowing initiative to connect women across the organization and grow visibility. W2W offers flex/part-time work, childcare and eldercare assistance, as well as coaching and mindfulness sessions for participants, 40% of whom advanced their careers or transitioned into new roles in 2021.

The enterprise software application company SAP America is on the Best Companies list for a seventh year thanks to its focus on diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being.
- Striving to support the mental health of its workers, SAP America has initiatives like an employee assistance program that provides a globally available 24/7 counseling service for all employees.
- SAP’s Inclusive Mindset Challenge is a platform where employees can receive training across a variety of D&I topics on SAP’s Inclusive Mindset Challenge. Employees earn points for every challenge completed and can track their progress on a companywide leaderboard.
- Inclusivity efforts have paid off, with nine out of 10 employees saying they can be themselves in the workplace.
- “Actions by the C level match their rhetoric. We are frequently giving Mental Days off fully paid, above our generous vacation days and unlimited sick days,” one employee said. “The leaders are truly concerned with the human side of their employees and understand that a happy employee is the ultimate strategy to keep customers happy.”

Employees say:
"This is the first place I have ever worked in my entire career where my manager cared about me as a person first and a worker second. I truly feel heard when decisions are being made about how we do our jobs. Excellent culture!"
