Its Talent Link proprietary networking platform allows employees to build profiles, highlight skills, and gives other employees access to their profiles to help them job match, find mentors, and earn leadership badges. 

In October 2023, AbbVie hosted Celebration of Culture, a daylong teamwork- and empowerment-building event. The day started in the earliest relevant time zone, and all events were captioned and available on demand to make them accessible to employees.

AbbVie’s Ability Employee Resource Group introduced NDWorks, a neurodiversity pilot program to raise awareness and foster sustainable solutions to support neurodivergent individuals in the workplace. After continued efforts to advance gender equity in the workplace, AbbVie’s workforce is made up of 56% women, and 52% of management positions are held by women as of December 2022.

• In 2022, AbbVie restructured; however, a spokesperson said layoffs impacted less than 1% of its employees. In January of this year, the company also saw the expiration of its patent on Humira, its best-selling anti-inflammatory medicine and a key portion of its annual revenue.


• AbbVie has a systematic approach to crafting its corporate ethos. It has a dedicated organizational culture team of six people and a global cohort of 250 AbbVie Way Ambassadors, employees who are tasked with being role models for other staff members.


• Ways We Work is a companywide creed that’s a blueprint for how staff should work together and treat one another. It was developed after extensive discussions with employees.


• AbbVie launched an internal program to develop the skill sets of employees from a diverse range of backgrounds.


• In 2023, AbbVie introduced the formal expectation that higher-ranking employees need to include an inclusion goal among their operational and business plans.
