Matt Heimer formerly oversaw Fortune's longform storytelling in digital and print and was the editorial coordinator of Fortune magazine. He was a co-chair of the Fortune Global Forum and was the lead editor of Fortune's annual Change the World list. Prior to Fortune, Matt was a senior editor at MarketWatch and a reporter, senior writer, and deputy editor at SmartMoney magazine, where he won a SABEW Best In Business award for explanatory journalism. Matt holds a master’s degree from Yale Law School, where he was a Knight Journalism Fellow. He’s also a former Jeopardy! contestant.
