Alexei Oreskovic is Fortune's Tech Editor. Based in San Francisco, Oreskovic has covered the tech industry for more than two decades, chronicling the boom and bust of the dotcom era, the birth of smartphones, and the rise of social networks. Prior to joining Fortune, Oreskovic was the Features Editor for Insider's tech section, and also served as Business Insider's Global Tech Editor and West Coast Bureau Chief, leading a team that won several awards for its coverage of the tech industry. Earlier, Oreskovic was a tech correspondent at Reuters, where he led coverage of Google, Facebook, and Twitter, and he has made frequent guest appearances on TV and radio, including CNBC and BBC World News.
