Tan Su Shan made history in 2025 as the first woman to lead DBS, Southeast Asia's largest bank by assets. She inherited a high bar set by predecessor Piyush Gupta, who led the bank for 15 years. DBS reported pre-tax profit of 13.1 billion Singapore dollars ($10.3 billion) last year; earnings have continued growing in the first half of 2026. In July, the bank became the first Singaporean company to surpass 200 billion Singapore dollars ($157 billion) in market value. Before taking the CEO role, Tan oversaw DBS's consumer, wealth, and institutional divisions, which together contributed roughly 90% of the bank's revenue.
