Datuk Ng Wei Wei became the first woman to lead UOB Malaysia—one of Malaysia's largest banks—in May 2022, after returning to UOB in 2019 from more than a decade at HSBC. The bank posted 2025 pre-tax profit of 2.5 billion Malaysian ringgit (about $610 million), up 15.6%. UOB Malaysia has helped to facilitate over 18 billion ringgit ($4.4 billion) in foreign direct investment into the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, in part through its Green Lane with Invest Johor.
