Jeny Yeung became MTR Corporation's chief executive on Jan. 1, 2026—the first woman to run Hong Kong's rail operator—after 26 years at the company, where she was commercial director and then managing director of Hong Kong transport services. She also chairs payment firm Octopus. Her task: keep cash flowing while MTR spends about 140 billion Hong Kong dollars ($17.8 billion) on seven new rail projects, many serving the Northern Metropolis, the government's planned development zone along the Shenzhen border.
