Tomoko Namba founded DeNA, a Japanese developer of video games and e-commerce software, in 1999, and ran the company as its CEO until 2011. She stepped down as CEO to care for her ill husband, becoming DeNA's executive chairman. In recent years, the company has worked with Nintendo to bring franchises like Mario Kart and Animal Crossing to smartphones. Namba also serves as the vice chair of the Japan Business Federation, the first woman in the role.
