Woolworths, the other of the two biggest Australian supermarket chains, is led by Amanda Bardwell, who was appointed CEO in February and took the helm in September. Bardwell is also the first female chief executive to lead the company founded in 1924. She joined Woolworths in 2001 and most recently oversaw the company's digital arm, WooliesX. Woolworths is the most frequented Australian grocery store, with 37% of the market, according to government data.
