Su Hua has made a name for himself turning an app that was originally designed to create GIFs into one of the world’s most popular video-sharing and livestreaming platforms. Hua reportedly started coding software at the mere age of 12 and excelled when he attended the prestigious Tsinghua University. He worked as a software developer for search giants Google and Baidu prior to founding Kuaishou, which has since blossomed into a fast-growing service that people believe could be the next TikTok. You can count Chinese tech giant Tencent as a believer—it’s a big financial backer of Kuaishou, which now has a valuation of more than $28 billion.
