Twelve years ago, Benjamin Clymer was whiling away the hours in his cubicle at UBS blogging about vintage watches. He’s now among the most authoritative and influential voices in the entire watch industry, and his blog—Hodinkee—has grown from a one-man shop to a company of more than 50. In addition to the site, Hodinkee now encompasses a print magazine, a podcast, a branded content studio, a fast-growing e-commerce arm, and a Japanese edition in partnership with Hearst. Clymer’s fanatical interest in watches vintage and new grabbed the attention of famous watch fans including musician John Mayer and Nest founder Tony Fadell, who both invested in the company. Fortune profiled Clymer and Hodinkee earlier this year.
