- TitleFounder and CEO
Barsoum is working to bring transparency, convenience, and choice to Middle Eastern and North African health care markets. The Egyptian entrepreneur founded Vezeeta, a Zocdoc-like platform, in 2012, looking to empower people with information about health providers that has been traditionally hard to find in the region. Individuals using the platform can research, rate, and book appointments with medical professionals. The service, which has been used to schedule 6 million doctor visits, is currently available in 50 cities across six countries, though Barsoum is working quickly to expand the company’s reach and offerings. (Telemedicine is a major priority, as is entering new emerging markets.) The work hasn’t been easy; step one has been to bring many health providers online and set them up with the technology required to meet Vezeeta’s vision of modern health care.
