  • July 29 is National Chicken Wing Day. Here’s a list of the restaurants offering free and discounted food. Americans consumed over 1.2 billion servings of wings over the past year.

It seems like every sort of food is getting its own holiday lately. And while that might mean a crowded calendar, it’s a good excuse to load up on free and discounted grub.

Tuesday is National Chicken Wing Day. Originally launched in New York in 1977, the holiday has become as popular as the bar menu staple. In the past year, in fact, Americans consumed over 1.2 billion servings of wings, according to Circana CREST tracking data.

If you find yourself in the mood to add to that number Tuesday, there are plenty of places offering free and reduced prices on wings. Here’s where you can find them:

Buffalo Wild Wings

Get six free wings (either boneless or traditional) with any order of $10 or more. If using the app, use the code FREEWINGS.

Zaxby’s

The chicken chain will offer a trio of deals for Chicken Wing Day for members of the Zax Rewards program. The buy-one, get-one-free deal on boneless wings is the main attraction, but the chain will also offer five free chicken fingers with any $20 purchase and, for people who aren’t fans of wings, it’s cutting the price of its Zalads in half. That offer runs through Aug. 3.

Wingstop

Get five free wings with a qualifying purchase. Use coupon code FREEWINGS.

Popeyes

Like Zaxby’s, Popeyes is offering a trio of deals. Stop by a store between now and Aug. 3 and you can get a free six-piece bone-in order of wings when you buy one. Members of the company’s rewards program can get a free six-piece order of Spicy Bone-In Wings with any wings order online or in the app. And if you get your food delivered via DoorDash or Uber Eats, you can get a buy-one, get-one-free deal on a six-piece order of either bone-in or boneless wings.

Applebee’s

This one’s to-go only. Buy one order of boneless or traditional wings for takeout and you’ll get another for free. (This deal does not apply to food delivery services. You’ll need to place the order through the Applebee’s website or app.)

7-Eleven

Get a BOGO deal on eight-piece orders of boneless wings or five-piece bone-in wings if you’re a member of the 7Rewards or Speedy Rewards loyalty programs. You can also get five free bone-in wings if you buy two Red Bulls at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations.

Hooters

You’ll have to dine in for the deals here, but when you buy 10 wings, you’ll get 10 more free of any style.

Whataburger

Buy a nine-piece order of WhataWings and you’ll get another order of the chain’s boneless wings for free. Bonus for people who haven’t used the app before: Do so and the chain will throw in a free Whataburger.
