  • Starbucks is offering a free coffee to customers on Monday Feb. 10. The promotion comes as the chain looks to boost sales and lure back customers who have stopped frequenting the stores.

Perhaps you celebrated the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory a bit too hard last night—or maybe you drowned your sorrows for the Kansas City Chiefs’ poor performance. You might have just stayed up well past your usual bedtime to see what the final score turned out to be.

No matter how you’re dragging, Starbucks is making things a little easier today. The chain is offering a free coffee to members of its Starbucks Rewards program on Monday, available all day. Those in need of a caffeine boost can grab a free tall hot or ice brewed coffee.

To get the free drink, either place an advance order in the Starbucks app or tell a barista that you plan to redeem the online coupon when you order in-store or via the drive-thru.

Not a Starbucks Reward member? There’s a workaround. Join today, the company says, and baristas in-store will still give you a free cup of go juice.

Starbucks is in the midst of a push to bring back customers who have opted for other coffee options, as sales have fallen over the past year, with a 4% drop globally in the most recent quarter (and a 6% decline in store visits).

To lure those customers back, the company has rolled out a series of changes that bring back policies and habits that haven’t been seen since before the pandemic. Workers will once again hand-write customers’ names on the cups with a Sharpie and the chain is offering free refills on some “for here” orders, a perk that was previously restricted to its loyalty-program members. (Free refills will be offered for hot brewed or iced coffee, or hot or iced tea after ordering any beverage.)

Milk and sugar stations are making a return as well, which will not only let people prepare their coffee just how they want it, but will also lighten the load for baristas and should result in quicker turnaround times for getting your drink.
