- TNT Sports and Max will offer in-car feeds for all NASCAR drivers during races starting Feb. 2. To see them, however, you’ll need to watch on the streaming service.
It’s one thing to watch a NASCAR race on TV. It’s another thing entirely to watch it through a windshield.
TNT Sports and Max are giving stock-car fans the chance to see races from a whole new perspective this season, with an in-car camera view for all racers starting Feb. 2. To view the souped-up dashcams, though, you’ll have to watch the race on the Max streaming service.
Starting with the Cook Out Clash this weekend, the Driver Cam will be available for up to 40 drivers per race. NASCAR viewers who opt to tune into those will hear both the hum and screech of the car as well as the scanner team radio chatter.
You’ll be able to either choose your driver or watch two preset multi-view stream options that feature four drivers each. Those four drivers will be selected by how compelling each one’s story is going into the race as well as via a weekly fan poll.
Individual driver streams will be shown with live statistics, including stage, lap number, position and race status, along with their speed, RPMs, gear and more.
Miss a moment? No worries, you can pause and rewind live video and a replay of all of the drivers’ streams will be available following the race. The Driver Cam feature will be available for all 38 race weekends of the NASCAR Cup Series, including the Daytona 500.
The addition of driver cams comes as TNT Sports begins a seven-year multimedia distribution agreement. As part of that deal, truTV and Max will exclusively present the second half of the NASCAR Cup Series practices and qualifying sessions each season.
