There’s a decent chance you still have a few Thanksgiving leftovers hidden in the freezer, or forgotten in the back of your fridge. So if the thought of making an elaborate Christmas dinner is panic-inducing, don’t feel guilty.

Not even Scrooge could blame you for not having the energy to prepare a second feast, especially after such a short time—and what with all the halls to be decked and presents to be purchased in the interim.

Good news: If you don’t have it in you to cook on Dec. 25, you don’t have to. There are several restaurants open on Christmas. More, perhaps, than you might imagine—though, in some cases, they’re only serving meals to go, and you’ll want to check to make sure they don’t require a reservation.

As for the usual caveats when it comes to holiday openings and closings: Hours may vary, and some municipalities have laws prohibiting major stores from opening on Christmas. And always call ahead or hop online to ensure the location near you is open and reservations aren’t required.
