Since early this year, Fortune has tracked the progress of the U.S.’s COVID vaccine rollout in our series of weekly vaccine maps. But with 63.8% of American adults now at least partially vaccinated, as the vaccine drive slows and new coronavirus cases continue to decline in the country, we’ve decided to take stock more broadly and look at the progress of vaccine rollout globally. After all, no country is truly safe from the pandemic—no matter how many of its citizens are vaccinated—until the spread of the virus is under control everywhere.

While the number of new COVID cases reported each day globally is declining—at an average of roughly 400,000 daily, less the half the figure reported in late April—the virus, in its many variant forms, continues to test governments worldwide. As of June 8, 2.2 billion COVID shots had been given globally, according to Our World in Data, and 932.4 million people, or about 12.0% of the globe’s population, had received at least one vaccine.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of those vaccinations have happened in a relatively small number of countries. The share of vaccinated residents varies widely by country. A number of relatively small island countries and territories top the list, including Gibraltar, Malta, and the Seychelles, having reached more than 70% of their respective populations with COVID shots. Other high-ranking countries include Israel (63.1%), Canada (62.7%), and the U.K. (59.8%).

Some of the countries with large proportions of their citizens already vaccinated are nonetheless struggling with a surge in new COVID cases; the  Seychelles with 71.9% of its population vaccinated, as well as Mongolia, which has reached 57.5% of its residents with at least one vaccine, and Bahrain, which has reached 59.4%, have all recently seen spikes in new infections in their countries. The trend has caused some to worry over the effectiveness of China’s Sinopharm COVID vaccine, which has been used in all those countries.

While most of European and North American countries have vaccinated at least 30% of their citizens, many countries in South America, Africa, and Asia have reached less than 20%. Japan, due to host the Olympic Games this summer, has vaccinated 11.5% of its population; Russia, the maker of the Sputnik vaccine, has reached 12.2% of its citizens. Due to access issues, many nations have yet to reach even 5% of their citizens.
