Candles often make the ideal Secret Santa present, but if you’ve already bought one of Yankee Candle’s Luminous Candles, don’t wrap it up just yet.
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced last week that Yankee Candle would be voluntarily recalling products from its Luminous Candle collection. The recall comes after Yankee Candle received 16 reports of the glass candle jar cracking when lit, causing a laceration hazard.
In a statement, company President and CEO Hope Margala said, “At Yankee Candle we pride ourselves on having the highest standards of quality. Out of an abundance of caution and a firm commitment to safety, we have decided to request the immediate return of all Luminous Collection candles.”
Consumers can see the full list of the six fragrances that are being recalled on the Yankee Candle website. It includes the festive Cinnamon & Cedar scent. Consumers who have already purchased one of the candles on the recall list can return the product to any Yankee Candle company-owned store for a full refund, in addition to a free candle.
