Opinions about money range dramatically, even among those who have a lot of it. Some consider it the root of all evil whileothers consider it totally irrelevant to their success.

Whether it’s in its acquisition, expenditure, saving or investing, most people devote a lot of time thinking about wealth and money. While it’s easy to be overwhelmed and disillusioned, some of the planet’s wealthiest inhabitants have clearly stated their position on the almighty dollar.

Here’s what some of the greatest influencers of our time had to say about it.

“Rule number 1: Never lose money. Rule number 2: Never forget rule number 1.” — Warren Buffett

“Innovation has nothing to do with how many R&D dollars you have. When Apple came up with the Mac, IBM was spending at least 100 times more on R&D. It’s not about money. It’s about the people you have, how you’re led, and how much you get it.” — Steve Jobs

“I can understand wanting to have millions of dollars, there’s a certain freedom, meaningful freedom, that comes with that. But once you get much beyond that, I have to tell you, it’s the same hamburger.” — Bill Gates

“I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let’s face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what’s sexy. And men define what’s feminine. It’s ridiculous.” — Beyoncé
