Citing Rising Cost Of Ingredients, Hershey's Raises Prices 8 Percent

For chocolate lovers out there, there’s going to be a new kind of Reese’s Cups on the market soon.

Hershey(HSY), which makes the candy, has been hinting at putting Reese’s Pieces into its iconic Reese’s Cups candy, as reported by Eater.

Interestingly, news of the candy comes as Hershey announced that it’s buying healthy chocolate brand barkTHINS in April, according to Fortune.

The company used Facebook to tease the upcoming product, writing “Where did all the Pieces go? ‪#‎Cupfusion‬.” The post went up 20 hours ago and already has over 1,800 likes.

“We’re always here for you, even in those times of #Cupfusion. Trust us, it will be worth the wait,” the brand wrote to a user on the social media site.

Here’s the Facebook post, which can be found here.

But that’s not all. In fact, a leaked version of the upcoming candy somehow made it to the social media site, causing a frenzy of interest, which can be found here.

“Guess you’ve heard about the #Cupfusion,” a Hershey spokesperson said in an email to Eater. “Would Reese’s make consumer dreams come true and bring together two beloved favorites—Cups and Pieces—into one mind-blowing delicious cup of goodness? You’ll just have to keep watching as it unfolds!”
