Hillary Clinton: Presidential candidate, Senator, First Lady, Secretary of State…and now food critic?
In a piece published Monday on Thrillist, a bro-centric lifestyle site, Clinton runs down her favorite restaurants in New York. It’s a something-for-everyone list, including everything from celeb chef spots (Red Rooster in Harlem) to hardcore carnivore cuisine (Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse, Charlie the Butcher’s in Buffalo) to veggie burgers (Hillstone in Manhattan) that her unnamed “vegan husband” swears by.
Not on the list: Roberta’s, the hipster pizzeria in Bushwick, Brooklyn where the Clinton family feted a Democratic donor in 2012; the New York State Fair—a favorite Clinton snack stop during her Senate campaign; and Junior’s Cheesecake, where she campaigned earlier this month but refrained from digging into any of the restaurant’s namesake desserts, telling the press in attendance: “I learned early on not to eat in front of all of you.”
